Before we proceed with the analysis of your problem, may I ask if your scenario is strictly for RTSP playback? You are currently using VLC for playback, so I am assuming that you can also play RTMP in this case. If that’s the case, can you try your playback to be in RTMP instead of RTSP?
So in your case, rtmp://emsserverip/vod/media/vodfile%1.vod
(And another thing by the way –unless you did not put another media folder inside the supposed media folder– I think this should be rtmp://emsserverip/vod/vodfile%1.vod)
