Display Current One Frame Image

We currently use some plug-ins that will display either the camera stream or a "still" image (from the camera’s video, just a current snapshot, a jpeg or png or whatever). The typical use-case is that when the user hovers over an icon, they’ll see the image, and if they click on the icon, they’ll get the streaming video from the camera. How can I accomplish this is EvoStream? I’ve tried using a playlist with a duration of 0 (the documentation says that will capture one frame of the video), but I don’t see anything being displayed when I try to view the Playlist in VLC. I should also mention that I’m using a .vod as the stream in the Playlist (in order to only have the stream pulled on demand). When I specify -1 as the duration, this Playlist works just fine for streaming the entire video. Is there some other way to accomplish showing just one frame from a stream? Or somehow saving the one frame image to a file? I’d like the image to be current, so I can’t just save a default image file from the camera ahead of time. It needs to be saved at the time the user requests it. Any ideas? It doesn’t have to be a Playlist, but that seems to be the way to do it. Of course, I could be wrong! 😉
