Dynamically change stream sources

This may be a very similar question to a previous post at https://evostream.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=812 but is it possible to dynamically control the source of an output stream using the web service API? A specific scenario may be as follows (all actions initiated by the user through the web service API):
1. Create an output stream with no input (blank output)
2. Attach live, transcoded input stream as source
3. Then attach a local video file as the source
4. Part way through the playback, stop the playback source and switch to the a different local video source
5. After the second local video source has completed, switch source back to live stream
