Load balancing?

Load balancing?

There are a bunch of claims of load balancing on the site as an advantage of Evo, however in my configuration and reading of documentation I’m not seeing any inference to any load balancing capabilities. Is this just saying that you can use evo to distribute a stream to many other evo instances so that viewers can be load balanced? Or is there actual configuration synchronization that’s possible? For example, say I am using Evo in a service to take incoming RTMP streams, transcode them, then record the transcoded stream. However, I want to load balance the incoming streams so we aren’t transcoding everyone on a box. So my plan is to use a network load balancer to automatically forward the RTMP tcp packets to healthy active Evo instances. The problem with this is that since I can’t predict which server is going to get which RTMP stream I need to make sure all transcode and record configurations are set on all available evo servers so they all get handled properly. Am I correct in assuming that the load balancing systems of Evo have no way to manage this and I need to just make sure all servers have the right config manually?
