Not able to start the service evostreamms

Hi,
I have installed the evostreamms on the ubuntu 12.04 TLS.
Followed the instructions at: http://evostream.com/downloads/quickstart-linux closely.
However, at the step 3, # service evostreamms start, the service just won’t get started. Entering the below command has no response:
admin@evo:~# service evostreamms start
After that, when I try to stop it:
admin@evo:~# service evostreamms stop
/etc/init.d/evostreamms: 120: kill: No such process
/etc/init.d/evostreamms: 120: kill: No such process
What might be the problem?
