Hi Bill, We have seen your logs. We need further details.  Can you send us the result for these: ifconfig lspci uname -a
Is it running on a VM? Please advise host details.   Thank you!

Hi Bill, Based on your ifconfig result, you do not have a Hardware address. Result: HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 The error “License::GenerateMachineId(): Assertion `false’ failed.” is because the EMS failed to get the MAC address of your machine.  Can you to fix your VM’s network connection, make sure that you acquire a MAC address then run EMS?  Let us know if that solves your issue.     Thank you!
BillMalkin answered 7 years ago
Hi Erika I don’t think I can change that MAC address. Can the EMS alternatively use the hostid or IP address? I’ll put in a request to the VPS provider to see what they might be able to do. They have just been taken over by another company and their service is pretty hopeless at the moment. I probably should look at changing to another provider anyway. Thanks. Cheers

Hi Bill,  I am sorry to hear that. To further assist you, are you using a vmware or virtual box?  There are network settings in the VM that can be changed. This might work..    Cheers!!
