Evostream and Bitmovin Partner to Enable Advanced Metadata Aggregation and Delivery over HLS


Easily add dynamic overlays and interactive displays to accompany and augment video streams

Using the EvoStream Media Server’s Run-Time APIs, metadata is timestamped against the video and transparently transported with the video throughout your entire workflow.  It is then delivered in real-time with the video for display or analysis along with the video.  Bitmovin’s Player receives the metadata frame-aligned and in-time with the video, and delivers to the viewer.

Examples of practical applications include:

  • An action sport camera that uses location info from the connected phone, as well as an IMU (inertial measurement unit) sensor that tracks snowboarding tricks, jump height, etc.
  • Security camera collecting metadata from on-board image and audio processing libraries. The metadata will include motion detection alerts and bounding boxes, environmental info like temperature and noise/decibel level.
